Below, enjoy a peek inside our Kindergarten classroom!
Sample daily schedule.
Our “Touch Cue” wall in our reading corner. We also call it our “Secret Code” to Reading and Writing.
In our Number Corner we count the number of days we have been in school with 10-frames and links, add to weekly/monthly collections, practice fact fluency, work with the number line between 0-50, and work with patterns on our calendar.
Word Wall and Literacy Center Bins where we work on letters and words.
Our class fish named: Pumpkin, Papaya, Parsnip, Potato, and Pepper.
Our Dramatic Play area is currently set up as a “Kitchen” though this changes throughout the year to become a Pizza Restaurant, a Farm Stand, a post office, and more!
Sand Table and Children’s cubby area
Our class behavioral incentive program was inspired by the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud.
Children are recognized daily for their “Bucket Filling” behaviors (Acts of Kindness and Respect). Their name and action is written on a heart or star. Periodically throughout the week Bucket Filling Cards are read aloud to the class and then added to our bulletin board. At the end of each month cards go home to be shared and celebrated with families.
