1.0_FTE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Chaplin Elementary School is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Physical Education teacher to deliver high quality instruction beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The successful applicant must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He/she will work in collaboration with administration, teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff to develop effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develops and delivers Health and Physical Education instruction aligned with state standards and school goals.
- Teaches concepts related to physiology, anatomy, nutrition, hygiene, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and overall wellness.
- Provides instruction in physical fitness, team and individual sports, movement skills, coordination, agility, and lifetime fitness activities.
- Promotes leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and responsible decision-making.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs and accommodations.
- Maintains a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment in both classroom and gym/field settings.
- Inspects and ensures equipment and activity areas are safe and in good working condition.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and skill development.
- Participates in faculty meetings, department meetings, and professional collaboration as appropriate during the assignment.
- Encourages positive student behavior consistent with district expectations.
- Selects and uses appropriate instructional materials, technology, and equipment to support learning.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records and information.
- Assists with school-wide activities, assemblies, and supervision duties as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrator.
Certification/Licensure
044 Certification Physical Education required, 043 Health Certification preferred with 044 certification.
